You may not have heard of “Flack,” but it’s worth paying attention to just on its cast alone: Anna Paquin, Sophie Okonedo, Genevieve Angelson, Lydia Wilson, Rebecca Benson, Arinze Kene, Marc Warren and Rufus Jones. Originally on the PopTV network (formerly known as TV Guide Network) and the very reason why you probably haven’t heard about it, the show has moved to Amazon Prime for season two. It’ll likely be a challenge to get new viewers onto a show like this, given they may not have seen the first one, but the women of this series are always up for a challenge.
Here’s the official synopsis, but in short it’s a series about the world of powerful publicists in Hollywood, and their sometimes ruthless ways with their clients and their employees. Four quick-witted relentless PR flacks (as they are known in the biz) who take you behind the Hollywood Curtain.
Bad Behavior. Great Publicists. Ever wonder what the real story is behind those celebrity gossip columns? Flack has all the dirt. Four quick-witted and relentless flackers led by Robyn, played by Academy Award Winner Anna Paquin, are tasked to make the best of their celebrity client’s terrible decisions. But does their ability to clean up their client’s lives translate to their own?
Season 2 of “Flack” premieres June 11 on Prime Video. Watch the first trailer here.
